Can I insert a track split with Audacity?

    (searched) I usually use wave editor, but I saw this Audacity and I've been messing with it a little bit. My only thing is I'm pretty sure it can insert track splits like Nero but I don't know how. I've attempted placing the cursor then selecting edit>split but "split" is faded out. Any thoughts?
