Software players usually don't care if it's NTSC or PAL since the computer monitor can accommodate either. For freeware try VLC media player. http://www.videolan.org/

open up dvd decryptor. Go to tools, then drive, then firmware updates. Click it and it will take you to a website that has firmware updates and also region free firmware. But you will need a player to utilize the driv after it has been flashed to region free. Theres complete instructions on the site.By going through decryptor, it will automatically load into this site your burner and tell ya ya firmware version. Hope this helps.
