why dont ya just install a bigger hdd and then just copy the complete game to the hdd(will only take like 20 min to copy halo2) then do the modded maps. here is a site that i use for installing a bigger hdd,(just remember to make a back up of everything the site tells ya to) it only takes about an hour to put one in.

if you want to put halo 2 on a stock hard drive you will need to trim it down abit.there are usualess folders in it that you wont need.but i also recommend getting a bigger hard drive even if its only 80GB.plus the modded maps will take up space aswell.

my point exactly..i have 2 softmodded xbox's one with an 80gig W.D. and the other will get a 60gig W.D.(just as soon as i get it formatted) and for what my two boys use them for thats plenty big enough for them. They dont use live so i dont have to worry about that. and its well worth the time to put in a bigger hdd in the long run..
