i just managed to unplug power from my V180 while using flashbackup to restore a backup, when it was deleting the memory. now it wont even turn on. is there any way i can get it back alive? i have another v180 here, is there anytihng i can do? it would be grand if i didnt completely kill this phone.

only thing i could tihnk of would be to unsolder the flash from the other phone, stick it in this one, boot it, swap chips again, start restoring the backup on this one, and put the other's flash back in it. i dont really want to go to all of that trouble.

    thnaks guys.

anyone? wee bit of help? when i plug in the USB cable programs say the device is connected, but they cant communicate with the phone.

anyone know if theres a chance of this phone having a flash chip with multiple banks , so i could switc it to high and be back in business? i doubt it being 16 megs, but its worth a shot. anything else i could try?

you need to put the phone in flash/boot mode. hold down * and # when you turn it on.

even though the phone screen does not turn on, it still could be on. hook the phone up to the compouter and try to turn it on in flash mode. make sure you computer speakers are on so you can listen for the sounds the computer makes when it recognizes a usb device. if that dosent work you probably are just fucked and will need to get a new phone.
