I would like to rip individual music videos to my hard drive from several DVD's just as you would individual songs from music cd's and then burn a new DVD of just the music videos I want. What is the best program(s) and how do you do this without losing quality. Currently I only have Nero Vision Express 2 (Nero Ultra 6.0.0.19 version) and an hp300e DVD burner.
Well...its not quite as easy as ripping a CD...but its not that difficult once you get the hang of it. There are a few ways that you can do this, but the most simple and straight forward is to use two tool: DVD Decrypter and TMPGEnc DVD Author. 1) Use DVD Decrypter to rip the individual songs that you want into individual directories on your hard drive. Each Song should be composed of one large VOB file in its directory plus a few smaller files that you don't need fo rthis method (namely IFO and BUP). 2) Fire up TMPGEnc DVD Author. Under "source setup" select "add new file" and improt the VOB for the first video. OK the screen that comes up. Select "add new track" and repeat this procedure for every video you want to input -> just make sure to keep an eye on the size of the complete DVD (at the bottom). 3) Switch to "create menu" and choose the layout you want for selecting your videos. 4) Under "Output" select "create DVD Folder" and start the compile process...this will take about 30~40 mins. 5) Make sure the title-set was saved in a folder called "VIDEO_TS" (must be all caps) and burn to DVD-R with your favorite burnign software. GOod luck, and refer to the following guide if you have trouble with TMPGEnc DVD Author: http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/tmpgenc_dvd_author.htm
Thanks Yuriv, The DVD Decrypter is great and I was actually able to use my nero vision express to author and burn the new disc. Nero actually saved a couple of steps over your description.
