Can I switch my laser lens into a different gamecube drive?

    My gamecube drive is a drive 8 and I want to take the laser lens out of mine and put it in his which is a drive 6 because his gets disc read errors, but I think it's because of his lens and I wanted a drive 6 to have, so is this possible?

    Try to speak more understandable, i had to read that 3 times to get it:D

    But it's not a problem to move laser unit to other cube. only difference is a DVD-drive formware between laser units.
