    hello
is it possible to use a standard dvd-r as a data disk, like a cd-r where u can use it to place lots of media, like songs and videos. I looked at my DVD copying software and it only wants movies from the DVD-Rom or from the hard disk, IFO files?
Anyway is it possible to downlaod a software package or something?
    cheers for the replies
    Liam.

Absolutely! What software are you trying to use to copy the data?

Burning a data DVD is just like burning a data CD. Just open your burning program, select the files, and burn. I archive all of my audio CDs on DVD-R so I know I have accurate copies and I've never had a problem. DVD copying programs are designed specifically for DVD-Video, which refers to the data format, not the media.
