I have a laptop with a measly 192mb of ram and it's running xp not to mention the processor is only around 900mhz. Thing is that when I first had it running my xp, it was doing just fine and now I have reports that even the virtual memory is too low. Could this possibly have caused my usb ports to stop recognizing devices that I plug in. I am gonna be running tests but any response on this may save me time. I am as always grateful for any respone.
I dont know for a fact, but i would bet that the lack of ram and lack of processor speed may lead to your USB not working probably. Make sure its also not a driver issue.
Thanks for the response and I couldn't agree more although it has turned out that it was caused by the usb legacy support not being active in my bios. As far as I can tell it is right as rain now. Strange how it was working prior to the bios change but computers are random that way. Have a nice day
edit: never mind, me being an idiot. The Legacy USB is off by default on a lot of BIOSes, no idea why.
