Hi, I am still in learning stage and heard a lot people talking about expend their xbox internal HDD. I just wondering if modded xbox can hook up with external HDD? how hard to make that work? Thanks in advance
Wrong. You CAN use an external hard drive for storage of games and music. NOT SYSTEM FILES. You will though need to create a USB cable for your console and your hard drive must be in FAT32. Also if you boot the Xbox with the drive plugged in, it will format the drive to default FATX.
no you're wrong. you can modify the xbox bios to boot from the usb port. i have not done it but im sure you can do it through hex. and you might have to modify the secret ROM.
On which planet?? not this one that's for sure. You can use an external usb drive on a 360, but the xbox1 only sees the controller ports as a place with memory cards or controllers unless you are running linux.
when you plug a flash drive or usb hdd in the original xbox usb port that YOU MADE OR BOUGHT, it will format it to fatx and you can use it as a memory card. if you don't believe me try it out yourself.
Only if you turn it on with the flash drive inside. It might also do it if you are on the original dash and plug it in. It DOES NOT do it on a 3rd party dashboard, atleast not on XBMC.
