It won't let you change the write speed, or you set the write speed at 4x in ImgBurn, but it insists on burning at maximum?
no. i can set it at 4x or 8x but wont burn . i get write retries will burn at 12x and 16x tho lazer needs cleaned ?
time for new burner is this one ok http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...8008&CMP=EMC-IGNEFL090407&ATT=N82E16827248008
At a very quick glance I would go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106050 . It's got a 4 egg average with 100+ ratings. On second though if you need a sata compatible drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106070 Are you sure you need sata? Are you sure your drive is gone? I would try to uninstall it in device manager and reboot and see if that helps. After then uninstall/reboot make sure DMA is turned back on. If your lost google device manager and google or search this site on how to turn DMA on.
