I have a Panasonic DVD-A120 standalone DVD player. I have backuped more than 10 DVDs. With each DVD I get one of 3 scenarios: (1)Sometimes the DVD would play without incident; (2) Sometimes it would play, but it would be jumpy; (3) Sometimes I would just get a "NO READ" message from the DVD player. The originals read fine all the time. I think I am using Princo 2X DVD-Rs.
I purchased my DVD player almost 5 years ago. I have heard from various sources that because my player is so old, it can only read at 100% transparency, which many DVD-Rs today are not. Before I blow more than $100 on a new DVD player, I would like to know how much truth is there behind this rumor.
If that is not the case, what can I do to make it playable all the time? Which brand of DVD-R should I use, etc.
