Hi really need some help every time I try to burn a DVD on Nero it says that theres to much info to put on the disk which isnt the case because it says it with every DVD i try to burn, it the buffer starts but then the CD has to be scrapped because it wont burn i really dont know what to do can anyone pls help? Thankyou
I take it you can burn cds to harddisk, but not dvds. In that case, first make sure you check 'dvd' but not 'cd' when using Nero for burning dvds (yes, sometimes we make simple mistakes like this). Then maybe use Nero Info Tools to check your set up. Good luck!
What are you trying to burn, if it is a movie did you run it through DVD Shrink or Nero Recode first? Also, when you go to burn did you make sure you told it was a DVD disk and not a CD on your compilation screen?
thankyou for your replies yes ive done everything you've told me, i've burnt thosands of DVD films before so cant really understand why its saying this to me now? i go through all the right procedures but it just tells me that theres to much information when there isnt i use the right disks do everything properly and it still says the same to me with each DVD film i try and burn?
See if you can burn with some other programs (e.g. Decrypter). If yes, then maybe your Nero is corrupted.
@john8889, Do what creaky said, post up your Nero's error log and some of us will look into it. Go here c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log and copy the very last section, but "remember" to take out your Nero serial # that starts with something like this "1A23XXXX-XXXX".

If Nero says that there is too much material to burn, perhaps you have selected CD Burn rather than DVD burn in the Nero Smart Start Menu. The File selection systems looks exactly the same, so it's not that difficult to confuse The CD Drop Down Menu with the DVD Menu if you're in a hurry. Been There - Done That! - Mike -
Recorder: <ASUS DRW-1604P> Version: 1.09 firmware is old, 1.18 is newest get firmware here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces Nero version: 6.3.1.20, nero is to old update nero newest is 6.6.0.16 DVD-Copy on the fly 11:49:44 PM #1 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, try ripping to hard drive first, then use nero to burn off hard drive use quality media like verbatim, taiyo yuden, sony burn at 4x peace
This is an outdated Nero version, the latest is Nero 6.6.0.16. You need to update to the latest, it's much more better. Your dvd writer's firmware is really old. Again, update your dvd writer's firmware, so it will be more compatibility with other blank media and codes. Nearly 99% of the time, after updating the firmware, it'll increase the performances and it'll recognize other media better. Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1893 and download the latest firmware for your dvd -- it's latest version is "1.18", just click on 1.18 and it should automatically download. Once you're done with that, make sure no disc (cd or dvd is insdie your dvd writer) and just click on the update firmware 1.18. Let it run and update your dvd burner. That's ok for burning, but try to free up more memory if you can. This will improves your burning performances as well. Go to "ctrl+alt+delete", go to "Processes" and try to "End Process" or "disable" any running programs that you "don't" neccessary need them (i.e. any of your AntiVirus program, Norton AntiVirus/Symantec, printer, etc.) in prior to your burning process. (NOTE: be very careful of what you End process though.) I have no clue what you're trying to do here...??? It looks like you're trying to burn a really large files (GB) onto a single layer 4.7GB disc. It won't fit onto the single layer disc -- this is a no go. Need more info here on what movie(dvd) you're trying to burn. Your dvd writer can not recognize the blank disc that you've inserted into the drive. What kind of blank media are you using? I highly recommend the famous Taiyo Yuden (including FUJI & SONY "Made In Japan"), Verbatim "Made In Taiwan" (manufactured code: MCC003) or if you want the DVD9 (DL), then get the Verbatim 2.4X DVD+R DL "Made In Singapore", and the Maxell 8X DVD+R "Made In Japan" for your future dvd movies backups. Again, update your dvd writer's firmware to its latest version and hopefully it will do the right job for you.
Not a good thing, you should rip to your hard drive first and then you need to use Shrink. Your file is too big, either that or use Nero Recode instead of Nero Express. Or use dual layer media.
