Can somebody recommend me a really advanced DVD creator???

My aim is to create a professional like dvd. I have many video files that i want to add onto the dvd.

* Main Menu & sub menus (i.e. chapter selection, extra features etc)
* Customised pictures, fonts & possible video preview icons
* no limits to the amount of menus & videos i want to add..

Ive searched the internet but all are very basic. Can anybody point me in the right direction..

Sony Vegas looks like more of a powerful video editor rather than a dvd menu creator.. I couldnt see anything about creating menus...

If you really want semi-pro software, check DVD Lab Pro.
You can do all you want plus edit commands to make DVD behave the way you like.

Do not worry. Go for it, it is not so difficult to learn. You can make simple project or complex one as you learn more.
Lab need for input Mpeg2 DVD compliant file. I do not know what editor are you using, but ConvertxtoDVD will do for start.
In any case Lab has 30 day trail, so you can check it before committing.

 

I always have used ConvertXtoDVD for creating a dvd fast (i.e. for movies).. It is very basic and the menu cannot be customised to the way i wanted it to. (@ cyprusrom - i guess that was a joke comment! lol)

I'll download the trial version of dvdlab pro before possible purchase!

 

Like I mentioned, you will need DVD files to import into the Lab, than you can go wild on pro DVD creation.
Do not forget DVD Lab is not an editor, it is DVD authoring software, that is why I asked if you have any other AVI editing software like Premiere, Vegas or some free once.

 

The new version, ConvertxtoDVD 3 comes with improvements(I was told, never used it). And yes, it was a coment intended with a sense of humor, but not totally as a joke.:~)
You see, in the title of your thread you say you need a "really advanced DVD creator", but then you say, well, "Im not very experienced in this field ", which doesn't really go with "the super advanced":~)
I am not sure if DVD Lab accepts anything else but video that is already in mpeg2/DVD format. If you have AVI/mpeg4, I don't know if DVD Lab would be of much use, without converting first.

 

I have read conflicting reports and guides on dvdlab.. some say it will accept avi in most forms for the main content, but for animated menu backgrounds etc they must be mpeg2 or jpeg for still image...

confused.. maybe somebody with it can straighten it out.

There is a guide here somewhere, but it is like 3 years old..

 

Check bottom of the web page for specs. Lab will not take AVI. As far as I know only Mpeg2 or VOB files. For menu background motion Mpeg or still Jpeg are OK. You can also take a snapshot of the movie in Lab and use it for a background or do short clip for motion menu.

Thanks suba for clearing that up. I saw 4 different guides all saying different things. Not like I use the program or anything.
