hi i am new to computers and i am having problems burning a game to a dvd. the reason i am burning it to a dvd is because it is 796mb and the blank cd's are only 700mb. i read some of the posts from people that had the same problem and i figured it was probably drivers or firmware so i tried to dl the update. the only problem is that i got this computer as a early christmas present and i dont have any of the original disks. here is what i have windows xp hp 300n dvd r/rw nero 6 ultra edition clone cd sony dvd-r thank you
What game are you trying to burn? First u have to know what kinda of protection the game has on it and then u go from there. WHat programs are u using to burn? Let me know

Those games are kinda easy but if u have never burned before can be tricky. What kinda of burner are u using? Is it just a CD burner or can u burn dvd's as well. If there is not enough room on the blank cd then u can either burn to a dvd or if u have a flash drive just back it up onto ur flash drive. a lot of programs i do this way. What burning software are u using?
i figured out what the problem was i was using dvd-r instead of dvd+r btw i do have another question though can you burn 2 games on 1 cd/dvd??? for example when i burned hoyle board games i also tried to burn hoyle casino on the same disk it burned ok but when i tried running hoyle casino it gave me an error saying file could not be found or some crap like that i just wanted to get the most out of the blank dvd cause 796mb on a 4.7gig cd is a waste in my humble opinion.. btw thanx for the assistance -pcnewbie2
