Can someone show me step by step how to reflash my box please. I don't have a disc with version 4 so will need a file to download first.
Starview is connected to the PC and waiting so if someones can spare me ten minutes it would be really, really appreciated. If I get my own box to auto-roll and fix itself then I can do all my neighbours and it'll stop them from chapping on the door asking me to fix their tellies every five minutes..

Hi skywatchr , Are you sure you have a genuine box as version 4 will kill a clone box?

I presume you are using the right null modem cable.

All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos FTA Library.

You will need the GTromloader V4, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

You will need version 4.00 firmware found in the Starview Firmware folder.

And please download the Starview PDF guide, this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.

Any trouble whatsoever just drop back.

Thank you Sc0user, I think it's the right cable, it's the one I got with the box and put the original files on with.

The instructions say I have to connect my box to the TV AND the PC at the same time. Does it matter that I've disconnected from the telly to hook up to PC?

No its fine its just easier if you have it connect to the TV so you can see it working but you dont need to have it connected to the TV to flash it.

Thanks again, It' all done and hopefully working okay. Now, does this mean if they change frequencies again my box will find the channels by itself?

Sure does, unless of course they change the frequencies but thats another story. For codes it will auto update them, dont forget us now :) At least the hubby wont have to go running anymore :)

Hi Sc0user, thanks for your help. I've been all this time since last night sorting my menu, lol. No, seriously I had a sleep.

My neighbour has just brought her box round to get updated and it's a clone, can someone tell me where the latest file is to update this one. Thanks very much.

skywatchr, the latest firmware for clone boxes is 2.57 FIXED. You will find this on the eko site at the end of my post, it is in the starview -> firmware folder, the file is STAR_VIEW_H20060816_257eE_api_FIXED.bin

Forgot to add, this will autoroll the keys if they change.

Thanks very much. It was your file I used to put on my own box yesterday, so thanks again. It's working perfectly, don't know what I'd do without you lot.
I'll get my neighbours one done right now. Will it be okay to put my menu on her box after I've finished or could that fry a clone too?

For a clone , use the gt rom loader and download the 2.57_FIXED for clones

The channels should be still there , you do not need to rescan for channels
