Well, i can tell you that there are BD burners available right now for a pretty hefty price.. Once they figure out the burning software part we should be able to make backups, at least we hope so..!
You'll need to be wealthy to afford the discs and the burner. Might be just cheaper to buy the movie. LOL
you can as long as the disk is not copy protected most currently arent however that will change Blu Ray and HDDVD have hardware integrated copy protection that is the main reason hi def isnt being put on plain old DVD9
Easy Media Creator 9 allows for backup on 50 gig Blu-Ray. The only problem with that is the burners that are out now only burn single layer 25 gig blu-ray.
Your Asking the same question a long time ago when the first DVD Came out on the market. Yes BluRay can be copied eventually. Just give it time when prices drop on players and Titles. Maybe 3 years or so when BluRay Blanks will cost $3 a pop at your local BestBuy. Thats "If" BluRay becomes the standard. Personally I'm still sticking to my HDMI DVD Player for now.
