hey everyone, i was wondering if your able to back-up a xbox game without a modchip, by just using a crossover cable hooked from your computer to the xbox, i thought i saw that somewhere on the web before, i was just wondering if anyone is able to help me walk through it, thank you in advance
If you see on the web where you can backup xbox games without a modchip the only way to do it is to flash the xbox onboard bios (tsop) ,I dont recommend this for newbies, otherwise you need a chip. Some sites claim they have programs that you can copy xbox games in your pc with, theyre lying, what they probably have is instructions on how you do it. The change of dashboard in the xbox, ie evolution x, isnt just a new look, its also an ftp so you can connect your pc to your box.
i have another question, with evo x, can microsoft detect that you have modded you xbox when playing online?
They can, but only if you leave your modchip on. Most modchips have a switch to turn it off. So this means that you can't play backups on xbox live. If ever you connect to xbox live with your modchip on you will be banned for life (or up to the day you change your EEPROM chip).
I'm glad I read this. I almost bought some software on ebay. So, how difficult are those mod chips to install and what ones provide the best bang for the buck ?
