When I use Nero Vision Express 6.6 to create a DVD there is always one menu button on the opening screen. I would like to delete this button or drag it off the screen but I can't figure out how to do this. When I play the DVD I just want to press the Play button on the DVD player remote to start the DVD. Is there a way to have no menu buttons on the opening screen? Thanks for your help!
Thanks very much for your reply to my question. I will try to find the "Do Not Create A Menu" option. I looked everywhere but probably not far enought!! Thanks again - have a great weekend!
I'll open my Nero Express up and see where it is.. Ok, first I open Nero StartSmart, click on DVD at the top and then mouse over the Photo and Video icon. That displays a bunch of icons a bit lower on the screen. I click on the "Make Your Own DVD-Video" icon. This opens NVE3. Fron the "What would you like to do" menu I select "Add Video Files". This opens a small window named "Open". I browse and find a video clip I happen to have. In this case it is a video clip with a .wmv file extension. No problem. I click the file and the clip is placed in the NVE Content window. I then click the Next button at the bottom of the window. This opens the "Select Menu" screen, which is the one I put in my previous post. In the upper right corner, I open the "Menus to use:" drop-down menu and select "Do not create a menu". Click on Next, and the "Preview" window opens and the preview begins. Click on Next again and the "Burn Options" window opens. I can now burn my video to a DVD. That's about all there is to it. Frank
Frank; Thank you for your last response. I didn't realize that there was another post from you. I have another question about menu buttons. I followed your step by step instructions but I am still having trouble doing what I want. I think I need to keep the menu because I want to add a background photograph and from trying various things it looks like I need to keep the menu screen so I can add a background photograph. I have done that OK. I am trying to delete the single menu button so when the DVD video starts the background photograph will display until I press the play button on my DVD player remote. The video I am creating is a music slide show that I created as an avi file in another program. If I delete the menu as your post explains then I can't add my background photograph because I think the backgound photograph is considered part of the menu. If I must keep the single menu button on the screen it looks bad with the photograph background. Do you have any suggestions on how I can keep the menu but just delete the single menu button? Thanks very much for your help!
Hi Bill, Why not just put the picture as the opening scene? What would happen is that you would put the DVD in and it would begin to play. Your picture would display for a few moments and then the main portion of your video would begin. Does that sound right? If so then what I would do is: Open Nero StartSmart, select Photo and Video then select "Make a Photo Slide Show". In the upper right of the screen there is a tabbed menu. At the bottom left corner of this menu click on the file and magnifying glass icon. This opens the browser. Select the "Browse and Add to Project" choice. Browse for the picture and click it. This should put the picture in the timeline. Now you can have some fun with it. Try some of the transitions out. They are located under a tab at the upper right. Just choose one you like and either right click and select "Add to Project" or just drag it into the timeline on either side of your picture. Below the timeline are a bunch of icons. Here you can add various features and change settings. The check icon on the right, Properties, will let you add text as well as let you set the duration, it's the one I use the most for this. You can also double click on the picture or transition to open a Properties window. Try setting the length around 7 or 8 seconds. That's up to you though. Once you get your "1 picture" slideshow set up the way you want, Select Next. From the "What would you like to do? menu select "Add Video Files". Now all you need to do is add your original video and proceed as usual. Just don't create a menu. Frank
Frank; Thanks for your reply. I'll try your idea! I have used Roxio for many years and have really gotten tired of many issues with Roxio. I just started using Nero 2 weeks and I trying to learn the new software. So far I really like Nero. Thanks again - have a great holiday!
