    Hello,
I have an Xbox and used to have Xbox live and a bunch of original games. One day I softmodded the Xbox and then changed the hard drive with an 80 GB HD. It’s ok and I use it a lot to watch movies with xbmc and stuff but I remember the good old days when I could play live. I played xlink but I prefer live. Well anyway I have my original Xbox HD with the original ms dashboard. So when I want to play original games and be on Xbox live I have to open my Xbox disconnect my 80 GB HD and connect my 8gb original ms HD. What I want is a way to have both of them connected (even if I have to leave the Xbox open) and using a special IDE switch, bridge or something that I don’t know if it exists just switch between hard drives. Is this possible or am I dreaming? If I’m not dreaming what kind of IDE cable add-on do I need to buy?

Well I appreciate anybody who can help me.

    Thanks!

there is a couple ways u can go about doing this, u can get an xtender case which allows ur to connect 3 hds, or u can ad a second hdd an upgrade the IDE cable and also add a switch so u can select between drives

I know this question might sound stupid, probably not. lol. But couldn't someone just use a round IDE cable instead of the flat ones and just splice in a connector instead of having to crimp and possibly mess up the flat cable?

The round cables are wires laced in an insulated covering compared to wires pressed tight in a plastic sheath like the flat ones. So wouldn't it be easier to say cut the round cable between two connectors and cut one from a spare cable with about 3-4 inches of wire left on both sides and just splice it in (solder and insulate with electrical tape and possibly insulate with shrinkable sheath?

Just my opinion. I want to do this multi drive mod but wanted to get input from anyone first before deciding to do it.

Please let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks
