I have got DVD studio pro 2 and I was wondering if I can use it to back up my DVD collection. I have burned some DVD's that I shot and edited from my DV camera footage but do not know if it is possible to copy my DVD collection. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
No, you're going to have to strip the encryption first before burning your copy. Assuming you're in OSX, use either OSEx or DVD Backup to strip the encryption, then: 1. If your DVD is under 4.3 Gig, then just burn a copy using Toast. 2. If your DVD is over 4.3 Gig, then use DVD2OneX to compress to the right size before burning using Toast. Good Luck!
Thank you. I have now used OSEx and it is now 4.1 GB. However when I drag the resulting folder to Toast Titanium (Version 6.0) it does not allow me to put them in the area that it designates for me to drag it to. I have made sure that the DVD pane is being used not the data or audio panes. Any ideas?
Click on the data tab then click on the the advanced tab. There you will have to select the DVD-ROM (UDF) radio button. Now you can drag the VIDEO_TS FOLDER to the window. Let me know exactlely what you are doing step by step if you have any further problems.

Thank you jeepnut01. That worked perfectly. What I was doing wrong was clicking the Video tab and then choosing DVD-Video. Thanks again.
I recomend getting DVD2oneX to compress your movies if they are larger than 4.4gigs. It's really easy to use and not that expensive. Any further questions just post again and I will try to answer them.
