Can you lay an Lcd Flatdown?

    HI,
    iam going to buy a touchscreen lcd monitor and wanted to know if i can lay it flat down on a table (with its back to the table). can you do this without damaging the screen, having it overheat or anything else?

    if the vents aren't covered it should be fine.

    darklemon, what is the reason for laying down flat?

    While working in a certain electronics store we were always told that tubed TVs and LCD's can be layed down in any direction while Plasma TVs and Projection TVs can not be layed on their back. Again, this is just was I was told but never wanted to test to see if it was real or not. Better safe then sorry. My opinion, I don't see a reason why you wouldn't be able to lay an LCD on it's back if you give it some airflow.
