    Hey baldi69,

    Just a suggestion. But have you tried using Nero Vision i use it ALL the time ever since i found out about it and NEVER had problem with it NEVER crashed NEVER made a dodge copy or anything like that. So maybe if you haven't already tried that i would strongly suggest that you try Nero Vision.

    Hey, thanks for the response. Anyway, yes I was using Nero for awhile and it hasn't gave me any problems but now it crashes. Any program I use crashes whether it be Nero, winavi, vso convertx to dvd, tmpng, dvd santa, whichever. I know I have all the right codecs installed so I don't think thats the problem. It's just a wierd situation and I never had any problems before now. Sometimes it will convert 25% of the file and then crash. Sometimes right away. Different programs give me a different error message in the log. Like convertx gives me: (error decoding stream 0.0). That error will come up a bunch of times and then the program will crash. Nero will give me some seh_exception error which I have no clue what that means. This is getting pretty frustrating. I even went as far as restoring my system and to no avail. Same problem. If you do have any suggestions, I would love to hear your input.

    @baldi69

    Did you say you even reformated ur HD because if you did it like has to be your dvd burner then or i really dont know what else it is. So i guess you'll just have to wait for someone else to come along and see what they think about it. Which shouldn't be long at all.

    I think you should post your Nero log in the Nero Forum.
    Just paste it into the post (remove your serial number).

    Yeah I would post the log in the Nero forum except Nero is not the problem. I can't convert to dvd with any program, period! Any program I use crashes. I can burn dvd's fine, play games fine, everything else is o.k. The problem is just converting any type of file to dvd. I know it's crazy, nothing like this happened before. I'm just frustrated thinking about it. I hope this problem has happened to someone so I can get some kind of solution.

    Get Gspot (I use 2.21) and run one of the problem AVI's through it and see what it has to say, don't forget to hit 'render' at the bottom.

    Thanks..but I used gspot and it basically said the avi was fine and I had all the right codecs installed. So I don't know what in the hell could be wrong with my pc.

    What do you mean by crash?
    Check your avi`s with this progamme:
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=12#12 (Digital Video Repair)
    It`s dead easy to use, and will repair your files on the spot if they`re damaged.
    You can easily convert your files to Dvd, assuming, and I am assuming, that your computer is not f....ed. If so , you`ll have to get a new one!
    Here`s a good converting programme: "CovertxTo Dvd". It`s really easy to use,and gives good results.
    In general:

    Hey everyone I figured out the problem. It seems that whenever I start to encode any file my pc heats up to the point the conversion fails. The internal fan is on but I don't think it was pushing out enough heat. So just to experiment I took off the side panel and pointed a regular house fan about 3 feet from the computer. The conversion went through fine after that. So I bought another cooling fan for my computer which I will install today. If anyone is having this similar problem I suggest you try the same thing. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
