I have a Compag Presario SR1730T desktop that has all the memory slots. They are named with the type of card that it accepts. When I go to START -> My Computer I see them lettered c through j. I know this much...c is my harddrive, e is my CD/DVD drive and j is my external Harddrive.

What is the d and f through i asociated with?

    Thank you

d-f could be the USBs that you have in your computer. Sometimes they list the USB connections because you can connect to a storage device through your USBs!

That is exactly what they do but how do I tell which letter corresponds with what memory card? That is, for example, which letter is for CompactFlash and which one is for Memory Stick/Pro, etc

I have the same problem and I have more USB slots than you do...... try deciphering E-M! But if you insert your CF card into one of the slots then it will show up, like mine does, in My Computer. If not..... then hit each letter and see if your CF card shows up. that's the only way.

lol ya jus double click on each until the folder opens,,,the xtra drives may be mem card readers or extra virtual drives emulated by deamon if you have it installed
