hmmm.. you have nero.. why not do a disk quality check on a new one compared to a previous one.. funny about the "freeze after 5 mins" tho.. my dvd player is very very picky about +rw disks.. some play fine, others it doesn't want to know.. same brand and batch and same image burned.... picky !!

per the suggestion of ps355528, does Nero show the media ID code to compare the old playable with the new non-playable.
I found the Staples branded DVD+RW work ok (they are made by CMC ).

The only other RW disks I used were Maxell DVD-RW, which failed quickly.

The VideoHelp site show reviews for both ID's varying from 'good' to 'mixed', so either try them on another player or get another brand with a different ID.
That five minute deal is odd.
