Apparently (according to numerous Internet leaked news / speculation sites) Canon will be announcing the release of the 40D for retail on 26 September 07. Features will include a boost to 10.1 MP to match the 400D/xti rebel and also the same dust reduction sensor cleaning technology... I was thinking of getting a secondhand 350D / 300D as a backup camera to my 400D, but in light of this I might just wait and get a 40D body and make the 400D the backup... Will anyone else on here be persuaded to upgrade??

That's a sweet lens! I can only dream of such at the moment - my wife wouldn't be too impressed... although I am trying to justify spending $$ on camera gear by shooting the odd wedding, which helps my case!
well the wife is always a problem when it comes to guys and their hobbies! me....... I got rid of the wife a long time ago...... I'm free to do what I want!!! hahahhahhaha
