I have a Canon Powershot A620 and I am wondering if there is some Video Capture software that I can use to recording video with. The camera has AVI capability and I can record video with the camera on an SD memory card. I have ordered a 2 GB card but I will take some time to get to me. And even with the SD memory card, I can only record a certain amount of video, I would like to be able to record atleast 45-60 minutes. I read on someones camera review that he was able to record 40 minutes on 1 GB, but I can not confirm that, at one time I had a Sandisk 1 GB memory card and I was only able to record about 8-10 minutes I think. If someone has any ideas on how I can accomplish this I would really appreciate it. I did have some success with an older Compaq computer, using some software called Intel Video Capture but it only recorded about 30 seconds and i could here the sound. Thank you in advance.

no you cannot minumum most cameras record at is 30 seconds to 3 minutes max before they stop recording and if you want to do video editing just use

    imovie for macintosh users

and windows movie maker for windows users

Hello Johnodd4, thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. I guess I will need a video
    camcorder then. Thanks

When I was recording I was not recording on the camera's memory card, I was recording unto
the computer. Does that make a difference? Do you know of any software that would help?
Perhaps I am asking the same question again.

Do you know much about the capacity of sd memory cards? I read a post and that person
says that he record 40 minutes of video on a 1 GB sd card. Do you have any experience with
SD cards and video cameras? Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

The casio s600 and z750 will record video dependant on the size of your sd card, my z750 will do 16 mins on 512mb in high quality, though s600 and z750 are mpeg4 format. So with 2gb card you will get those times you want. Though to be honest you will probably be better off with a video camcorder, as well if you going to do serious movies, if you just want fun stuff movies, then the casios are worth a look.

Thanks sheppy124, I appreciate your suggestions. I sure hope I can get some good amount of recording done with the 2GB card, but yeah you are right, I actually want and need a video camcorder to record the weekly sermons, the funding is all I need now =). Thank you.
