trying to connect to PC, should be the easiest thing to do, plug in USB cords, however, im using WinDV and it says no device found? now in the manual it says to transfer video connect the DV (firewire) cable and blah, blah, to transfer video clips and pictures connect the USB, so do i need to get a firewire connection to transfer my video? i was sure i could do it via USB? is there a driver i'm missing? been fussing with this all morning, driving me a little crazy. i will try taking a picture and transfering it, then i guess i will need to install the software, but really i shouldnt have to?? any ideas?
    Thanks.

Your video camera uses miniDV tape. To get the best quality, you need to use a firewire connection between your video camera, and your computer. You should be able to capture as an .avi file.

USB will give you lower quality captures.

You have to use firewire to transfer video from the canon. USB is just for images off of the memory card.
