can't connect ftp'ing to xbox

I picked up a used xbox (pre softmodded) from a sale for a friend, but for the life of me I can't get the connection when I try to ftp.
My own softmodded box, connects just fine (unleash x).
this other box uses evolution x and the nearest I can figure is that the password must have gotten changed somewhere along the line.
is there a way to get around this?
is there a way to change the password?
please help, so stuck....

thank you, but the networking isnt the issue.
my own xbox connects for ftp'ing just fine.

this new one however won't seem to connect. it uses evox dashboard and in the system utils it displays the password but not the username (wich I think someone changed) i use the flashxp prog, also tried reassigning the ip address of the xbox. no luck.

 

Have you got a link light?

The password and usernames should be 'xbox', set them to this if not!
