I haven't been able to connect to MSM, Hotmail, Microsoft.com, Microsoft Update, or anything related to Microsoft for the past few days. I can access these sites though a proxy, so I have no idea what could be the problem. I've also noticed my Bandwidth getting zapped most of the time.
You are running a bot.. your computer is probably right now either taking part in a ddos attack or spamming massive numbers of emails etc across the world.. A lot of these bot running applications block M$ by modifying your arp cache and/or dns tables. Run antivirus/antispyware scans immediately.. with the internet physically disconnected, and post your findings in the appropriate section..
Hi Redlink , Since last weekend I had been suffering from exactly the same problem. Unable to access MSN , microsoft.com , windows update etc, etc. As the other two pcs on my wirelss network were also suffering the same symptoms , I deemed it to be probably a router problem. The problem was cured in my case by accessing the router settings and changing the MTU from auto(1492) to a manual setting of 1472 . My router is a Linksys WAG354G , and is quite easy to change in that router . You will just have to browse around for the setting in your particular case . May not work with you but certainly did for me. However , I can't understand what might have happened to cause the problem in the first place , as I had not been into my router setting for quite some time. Hope this may be of use
