hi.i have a problem when trying to copy a dvd using dual layer blank dvd's.if i try to copy the disc directly it fails.if i store it on the hard drive first and copy it from there it works.the source drive i use when trying to copy direct from disk is quite old and is is not a dual layer drive.it shouldnt make a difference if its not a dual layer drive i think but i cant figure out why its not working.
Burning on the fly isn't recommended, especially with DL's as tricky as they can be. I would stick with ripping to your HDD first and then burning to disc second. Otherwise, slow your burn speed to 2.4X and hope that your old drive can read the source disc twice as fast as you are burning.
