i have tried to copy the last samurai and never end up with the movie on the dvd -- the disk has a video_ts and a jacket_p folder - and the dvd i end up with has a video_ts and a audio_ts folder -- the movie does not end up on my copy dvd - it looks likes it there and i press play movie - but what plays is track by track with the movie director talking about each part of the movie - but not the actual movie -
it takes a long time to copy and has all the chapters etc. -- i used clonedvd2 and tried it with only the dvd files and the whole disk -- also tried with preserve menus and without and end up with the same thing on each dvd i copy - i havnt a clue whats wrong - i also tried dvdxcopy express and that had a hard time making a copy -- i dont think it likes dvd- media or any media thats not blank to begin with - thats from my experince - anyone can explain to me why this is happening and how i can copy this movie -
other movies copy fine with clonedvd2 - i also have region free which works great -
    thanks

hi - i am new to this - so i am not sure what excatly i am doing wrong - i though using clonedvd2 -- is all i would need - i done many movies that way and had no problem - why would i have to use dvd decrypter first?
and then use clonedvd2 ? i never done it that way -
and if i use dvd shrink - how would i copy it to my dvd - these are the programs i have - i have dvdxcopy plantum - and it works fine sometimes and then sometimes it dont - i also have dvd region free which works great in the background - and i have clonedvd2 -
i have dvd shrink and decrypter - but just not installed on my computer - i didnt want to install so many programs and then may have problems with so many installed at once - i also have nero 6 express - which came with my computer - but its not configured with dvd region free -- so i could only use it after i make a copy once and use the copy to make another if i need it - i am not sure how to add it to the dvdregion free program and have it connected when i start nero 6 express -- so from what i understand - i should try using either dvd shrink or dvd decrypter first - and then burn it to disk ? i never done it that way - but i try it on the next movie i get which gives me trouble - but i still dont understand how clonedvd2 does not copy the movie ?

    thanks for any help -

    try dvdxcopy platinum.
or a ccd decriptor & nero.

its perfect if you can afford it .

but beleve me I've had only 2 problums with it.

1 theres a copy warning but you can bypass that.
search on google for 321 gone, simple huh.

2nd is I never can keep enough dvdrws on hand.
I my self have over 200 movies .
encoding 1 by 1 an 2-6 hours & an hour of editing
aint fun , best about nero is it copys your movie fast.
and the qoulity with platinum is surperb.

as for free programs , try dvd2one or dupdvd & a decriptor.

thanks for the input - i just stopped using clone2 and xcopy - xcopy gave me alot of problems - and didnt like dvd-r disks for some reason - i have a nec 2500a dual - so its not my drive - anyway i started using dvdshrink and works great so far - and its fast - the same movie with dvdshrink comes out good and with clone2 - it dosnt pick up the movie - just the document part - even if i copy the whole disk -
dvd shrink works great - so far - so good :)
    thanks -

    thats cool.

cant figure why xcopy won't work for you.

oh well , at least there is more than 1 way to reach the goal, YES ,to each his own.

hey goodluck , (may the force be with you!!).
