I installed AVG antivirus program. When the program (paid) expired, I tried to delete it. It will not go away!
I downloaded the AVG removal tool, used it, and restarted computer.
    AVG still not gone.
I tried running the AVG removal tool again, but it said there were no leftovers on the computer.
I tried going to "run.. regedit", found AVG, but when I try to delete it there, the computer won't let me.
I have tried Revo Uninstaller, unlocker, going into the "Program Data" and nothing will make this go away. I have gone to task manager and tried to disable AVG that is apparently left, and it won't disable it.

What can I do to get rid of this program for good?
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thank you

Try booting into safe mode , make sure you're running cmd as admin before trying regedit , you may need to stop the service first in task manager. You could try re-installing avg and then uninstalling again.

I did that. I deleted it all. I delete it in regedit and any folder (such as "Program Data", but when I restarted in normal boo, It was back in several places. I can't seem to be able to get rid of everything. I thought using the AVG remover was suppose to get rid of all the leftover stuff. I have tried to re-installing so that I could uninstall it, but it won't let me re-install. I get an error message. I went on AG website about the error message and all it tells you to do is to use the AVG remover. It is a vicious circle. I appreciate your help so far. Thank you.
I hope I don't have to do a full recovery to get rid of it. I'd hate to have to re-install everything.

You could try using registry tools on hirens boot cd, to delete registry entries before windows loads.
There must be a service preventing deletion in the registry or re-installing upon windows startup. In avg 9 their was a service called "AVG watchdog". Run -services.msc , find the service( whatever they are calling it now) and change its "Startup type" to disabled. Restart and try AVG remover again or try deleting in the registry again, there should be a service in the registry that needs deleting.

When I want to remove all features and files from any program I use RevoUninstaller there's a freeware version and a portable version here: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html ,what you should do is re-install Avg and then use the Revo uninstaller it starts off using the programs uninstaller and then searches for anything left in registry giving you a chance to delete these leftover files using the advance mode.

I have an idea! how about you do a system restore that puts Avg back on your computer completely and then use Revo uninstaller and then remove the program and all the elements that way?

borhan9 is absolutely correct. I have the pro version of Revo but there is a 30 day free trial. Download it here: Revo Uninstaller
