CANT FIND SOFTWARE!!!!!!!!!

Ok u guys this is the problem. A couple of months of go
i ran into this DVD Player software that would save battery life
on a laptop by not having the dvd spinning all the time. Well
i didnt have a laptop then and now that i do i cant find the
software. Does anyone know the name of the program?
