This is my first time backing up a game (Madden 2006).

    1. I established a FTP connection between my Xbox and CPU.
    2. I used FlashFXP to put the game files onto my CPU.
    3. [bold]I used Quix to make the iso. But first I was told that I had to "Patch XBE", but I couldn't find an .xbe file in the folder that I created. So I continued.[bold]

    4. Finally I used Nero to burn the iso onto a disc. When I tried to play the game on my xbox, I got nothing and my dashboard was reading it as a "data" disc. Not a game disc.

What am I doing wrong. Can someone please help.

Is it better to use a DVD-R or DVD-RW disc for burning.

My yahoo messenger name is timothyawalker. I would like to talk in real time if possible. Thanks in advance.

you sound like you are doing it right, but here are some tutorials that may help you.

you should just FTP over the game, if it is from disc then you just
FTP the whole D: folder over from the Xbox.
Then use Qwix or Craxtion4 to create an ISO and burn it.
What are you patching the XBE file for?
And what game is it. I have never had to patch one so i am
curious as to why and what game.
The XBE file would have to be there, it is the executable file for the game or any program. Like an EXE file for the PC is.

If it says it is a data disc then it was not done right. either the ISO was not created right or how you burned it was not right.
