Hi I am trying to rip a dvd to avi. The dvd goes for just over an hour and I can't seem to get it under 700mb. I am using ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum 4. I don't want to lose much quality and I know it can be done. I have downloaded movies (legaly) that have been 2 and a bit hours and they have fitted on a cd and have been perfect quality.

If some uses this program and can tell me the settings to use it will be very helpful

Ive never used that program but isnt there an option somewhere for targeted size or something like that?
If not use AutoGk (its free, so no harm in trying) Just open up the .IFO containing the movie and pick a size, set everything under "advanced options" to autio and convert. Also i suggest using XviD as the codec but you can use divx if you want.

Edit: After looking around a little bit i found this guide (even though its for version 2)
    http://www.imtoo.com/dvd-ripper/guide.html
It shows that you can pick the custom size for your ripping like in the image below. Should be a similar option somewhere there.
