I used xboxhdm to create a new hd for my friend's xbox. I got to the last step(locking the hd) and it says i don't have eeprom.bin on my disc. I know i do. All i need is the eeprom.bin file, right?
I'm using his C folder and his eeprom, but my E folder. IS that okay?

Also if i tried his new hd in my xbox, would it work. Or does it need the xbox that the eeprom came from?

    I didnt understand this???

Some hard-drives cannot be locked. WHY??? "Manufacturer's restriction".

yes it is ok but in the E folder that you are using you need to change out the eeproms so that it will lock and work correctly with his motherboard or else you will get error messages and no you cant use that hard drive in your xbox because the eeproms are different

That makes sense. I forgot all about the eeprom in the E folder. That's probably my problem.
