I have Nero6 ultra. I wish to make an audio cd from cda files on my computer hard drive. I wish to combine tracks 1&2, not 3, not 4, 5&6&7, not 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. I have yet to discover how to do this. Can you help?
I've never used this before but it seems like it will do what you want. You might need to convert them to another format first before use. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/shuaudiojoiner.html HTH, Wyman
Hi Wyman, Thank you for your reply. I was thinking that there would be a way within Nero 6 Ultra that enables one to do this. For instance, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" has tracks that have no space between them. If I want to make a compilation disc of tracks from that album, "Wish You Were Here" and "Division Bell" I would add these tracks to the pane "My Audio CD" in Nero. Trouble is, it will then put 2 second gaps in between ALL tracks. If I uncheck the box that says "No Pause Between Tracks,it runs all the tracks together which is not acceptable. Roxio EasyCD Creator, which unfortunately is not compatible with Windows XP Pro (which I am running as my OS) has a very simple tool once you've compiled the tracks you want to burn.....you simply select the tracks you wish to join, right click and choose "merge tracks" and you're done. I would think Nero 6 Ultra has such a utility but just haven't been able to find it, neither in the program nor any of the instructios, which in my opinion seem a bit Spartan at best.... Please let me know if you or anyone else has the answer for Nero 6 Ultra. Thanks, Anovak
Hi Anovak, I'm sorry that I didn't realize you were trying to do this with Nero. The only thing I use Nero for is burning cds and making dvds so I'm unable to assist with that part. However, I'm unsure why Roxio doesn't work on your computer. I'm running versions 5 Platinum and 2009 on my laptop with no issues. Which version are you using? According to a Google search, you should be able to accomplish this using WaveEditor. I'm not sure if it's included in your version since you have an old version. The latest is version 9. Here's a couple of links to what I found: http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?showtopic=1114 http://club.myce.com/f59/combine-merge-mp3-files-46257/ Hope this helps. Post back and let us know how it works out for you. Wyman
Hello all, and sorry for the delay in getting back but thought, for those who might like to do something similar as I had with merging only certain tracks in a cd compilation while leaving the 2 second gap between others this just might be the answer: Add tracks to your compilation. Then, highlight the two(or more)tracks you wish to merge that are next to one another (like tracks 1&2). Right-click the highlighted tracks and click on Properties. A window appears with 3 tabs, mine opens with the Track Properties already opened. You will see that the 2 second gap is the default. Highlight the 2, backspace which removes it, and type 0 (zero) in its place. Click Apply, then OK, then close the box. I have not tried to highlight tracks that are not next to one another, like 1&2 and then 5,6 and 7 and applied this method. I instead did them a group at a time and then repeated the process for the next group and so on. My outcome was good.....I think.....I say that because either in reality or in my imagination, I thought I still heard a bit of a "click" or "pop" at the precise moment that one track merges into the next. I may try the Audio Editor tool next time, but that might be a bit more time-consuming as it involves, I think, copying and pasting tracks into the window and then putting them together without any pause in between. Hope this was understandable and helps someone. Further, I think I'm having the beginnings of an "attitude" about this Nero 6 Ultra.....it would have been so simple to provide a box under the one that says "No Pause Between Tracks" to the effect of "Merge Selected Tracks" in a similar fashion to what Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Deluxe has....sure wish I could have made that program run in Windows XP, but each time I tried to load it the window came up stating known incompatibility issues so was not inclined to tempt that fate..... All the best for the Holidays! Anovak
