Hi, I've created mpeg2 files from a DVD using DVDx and the files playback fine. Then using Nero, I created an SVCD using the mpeg2 file. After adding the file, analysis shows that the file is acceptable BUT somehow the added filesize have shrunk by almost 100MB!! After writing the CD, the movie just won't play with error messages indicating unsupported file format. Please help ... thanks in advance!

well the falling 100mb can be explaned because 800mb svcd = 80 mins on a cd but yet nero would say it is 700mb that is being burned!

got the SVCD working ... but very confused by why I can't play the video file in the SVCD using Elecard MPEG2 Player but works in PowerDVD. Isn't the video on SVCD an MPEG2 format?

Yes it is also just for the record, the movie on an svcd is located in the mpeg-2 folder, should be avseq01.dat, there could be other files too!

i've yet to understand why the avseq01.mpg file in the mpeg2 folder of the svcd is not supported by Elecard MPEG2 Player. The mpeg2 video used to create the svcd was encoded from a dvd using DVDx and is playable using Elecard MPEG2 Player but after using it to create the svcd, the mpg file in the svcd can't be played in Elecard. It works for DVD players like PowerDVD though.
