I have a Toshiba A30 laptop, with no problems till recently. the combo dvd/cd burner (SD-R6112) stopped reading copied dvds regardless whether they are movies, music or data. It will read original DVDs, CDs that are original or copied. Has anyone any ideas of the problem and how to fix it.
    thanks

    Hi stingr
Check here for a firmware update - link.
Firmware updates usually go in a sequential order.

You can check which version you have in device manager.
Right click on 'my computer' > properties>hardware>device manager.
Click on the + next to dvd/cd rom drive. Right click on the drive then click on properties. Go to the advanced details tab. The firmware version is listed to the right.

Here's a pic - the firmware in this one is 1.02
