Hihi..I know nothing about any of the usage of downloading and watching videos with subs..but I downloaded Media Player Classic cause I read somewhere that it was the best program to use to watch videos with subs..but I can't seem to watch the video with the subs..the video plays but when I try to load the subs, it says something about change the video renderer..I have no idea what this means..can someone please help me..thank you in advance.
Yeah, MPC's internal subtitle renderer only works with VMR7/9 renderless and Haali's renderer. The settings are in options, under output.
Hi, You may need to download and install VobSub, the foremost subtitle utility. You can find it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/subtitle_tools/vobsub.cfm Next, make sure your subtitle files are named exactly like the corresponding video files. E.g. "PulpFiction.avi" (video) and "PulpFiction.srt" (sub). Common subtitle extensions are .sub and .srt. Make sure the subtitles and video files are in the same folder. Then, simply play the video with MPC. VobSub will automatically open and show subtitles. Good luck!
thank you thank you...helped greatly... am I allowed to ask another question?...I can see the subs now and the video too..but they aren't in sync...the subs seem faster..is there anything I can do? thanks for all the help! Your life savers!
If you are going to use directvobsub, I wouldn't recommend an old version from 2001. Directvobsub became part of VSFilter some years ago. You don't need it anyway. As I said, MPC contains a built in subtitle renderer. Fact is though that Gabest wrote directvobsub and MPC and they both share a lot of code.
