i've downloaded a avi movie with omg codecs. I'm playing it on dell media experience software, but i can't get the subtitles up, even when i select them in the options. I'm assuming the file does contain them. Is there a way i can find out, or is there a decent dvd software player out there i could download that would show them if they are present?

    Cheers.

"downloaded a avi movie with omg codecs"

You don't by any chance mean an ogm file? and by codecs do you mean Tobias' dshow filters? Because from recollection, they have their own subtitle filter.

You might want to try VLC, it supports, ogm and subs. Although it can't decode all the possible codecs you could use for video in an ogm.

mplayer also supports ogm. Then there is Media Player Classic, which has a built in ogm splitter and subtitle support. No vorbis decoding though and most ogm's do use vorbis.

Thanks for the advice. I'm a new comer to the psp world and movies. The file extention is .avi, thus i assume its an avi file??? I downloaded AVICodec from afterdawn because the file would not play in microsoft media player. It stated the codecs was omg vorbris, so i downloaded the xp codec pack from this site, and the movie played, but with no subtitles! The movie is ong bak, which is a bummer because i can't speak thai!

    You mentioned VLC? Whats that?

    Cheers.

Still sounds like it might be an ogm file to me.
