cant uninstall XVid MPEG 4 codec Divx 4.12 Codec

Hi all,

My first entry in this forum.

I use Easydivx 0,81 for DVD ripping.

Everything went well with 3.11 codec until I installed the Divx 5 codec. This baby is quite experimental, causing major crashes on my laptop.

S I tried Divx 4.12 and XVid as alternative for codecs.

To no avail. Ripping with EasyDivx failed with no sound. So deceided to remove all codecs.

I tried the following:

Removed from the 3.11 codec and 4.12, 5. X the add-delete control pannel.

I tried to remove from the multimedia pannel, but if I try to remove them, they reappear in the list.

I deleted some files (dll´s) from the Windows 2000/ system32 directory, like the divxdec.ax, divx.dll and divx4.12 dll.

Still 4. 12 and XVid reappear in the multimedia codecs overview.

HELP ME!!! Please advise.
