I am trying to help with remote phone support, so I will fill in as many details as I can. User somehow installed unnecessary video drivers. He is running Win95. The drivers were the Intel Extreme Graphics 82865g. Now the monitor has a "control panel" in the middle of the screen taking up about 20% of the viewable area. The mouse doesn't seem to affect it as it hides behind the panel. Also, user said that the panel comes up at the "HP" screen, which I assume is the graphic that hides the POST. Because it comes up so early, I assume its not in the Windows software but something in the monitor or the motherboard. Any help?
the hp logo comes up at that moment quickl press f10, delete or possible f2 this will allow the user to access the bios. Windows 95 well if you load bad drivers in that os you pretty much have to reinstall the whole thing. Just a suggestion any pc running windows 95 with 233mhz processor or higher and at least 64mb of ram can upgrade to Window Me while not the best os its way better than 95 and if they have to reinstall everything that would be the time to do it available on amazon and ebay for less than 50 bucks or at the very least get the win98se upgrade.
