All volume settings are set at 0.5, (not even the first notch of the volume bar.) Even the Tv tuner Volume bar. On the computer, sound is of equal level as other Vid's, Games, Etc. After editing the Vid, converting with Tmpgen, and authoring, the DVD volume is 3X normal, just on the verge of distortion. How can I reduce the audio levels during ,edit, convert, author, or burn ???

Assuming you're using windows, on your taskbar should be a speaker icon. Right-clik and open volume properties. Clik advanced and turn the line-in volume down. If no spkr icon, go thru control panel. Should do the trick.
