now it may seem as if im cross posting here but i dont think iam . Using my camcorder and dvd recorder and by using the composite jacks red\yellow\white i burned about 5 minutes of footage on to a disc to test if i could a\put the footage on to my computer to do some very basic editing , i copied the disc on to my hard drive, when i tried to make new movie in nero it froze the program hoping eventually hoping to burn an edited version to dvd , when i tried with shrink i got invalid dvd navigation error , im hoping to get a double 4-pin fire wire cable tomorrow if such a thing exists as my present cable is 4 at one end and six at the other, any help appreciated
after doing a little research i can now pose a more precise question i copied some home movie footage only about 11 minutes from my camcorder to my lite on lvw-5200 on to a finalised verbatim dvdr+ using the analogues jacks which played back fine on the lite on and my computer but not my binatone player it shows no disc , probably because it cant handle dvd_r standard. ive tried using nero recode to copy disc but i get illegal coding error , probably because it doesnt like video rm . question is their software which will convert these files ? so that nero will author them I also copied the same footage using 4pin\4pin firewire card from the camcorder to the lite on but after finalised it some of the footage suffered sound distortion like i was speaking in slow motion any ideas my main objective is to convert the files from dvd into a code i can reauthor but only need very basic editing for now
You've already got encoding. Your lvw-5200 is doing it. What you need to do, is rip the video out of it's container on your disk, to your hard drive, then reauthor. Try ReJig (file mode), and demux both audio and video.
i fitted a firewire to my computer and i received with it a copy of ulead video studio basic , i actually fitted it a week ago but could not get my camcorder to detect but i had another go today in desperation and its working, at first i tried to capture but ulead said my file was corrupt and unusable because i was trying to capture in mpeg , it captured ok when when i chose dv , no dropped frames i have about 24 gig left free on my hard drive. im completely new to this how do i now put it on dvd or is that another story? still quite chuffed with my progress so far
DV is extremely high quality video (usually). It now needs to be encoded to mpeg-2, and then authored to dvd. The easy way, is to load the DV into tmpgenc plus (use the wizard the first few times), and encode to ES (elementary streams). It's a tick box, on the last wizard screen. This will produce an m2v (video) and an .m2a (audio, may be .mpa) Load the m2v and m2a into rejig, author mode, and author it to your hard drive. This will produce a VIDEO_TS folder. Burn that to disk and test in your standalone player.
i managed to capture video using nerovision and it worked ok on my standalone , however i chose to input random transitions and it turned an 11 minute footage and repeated the same clips througout the dvd. i wanted to insert music and sounds but its difficult with nero editing but i managed to do it with ulead basic is there a way to export it to nero or will i have to buy a better software package? thanks for your help
For more advanced authoring, you'll need something else. Nerovision is just too limited. Take a look at DVDLab Pro (free 30 day demo) www.mediachance.com
thanks for the info ive ordered ulead dvd movie factory 4 ive read some reviews and should lead me into the basics ok
