Capturing small clips of DVD movies

    I want to take a number of clips from various dvd movies, is there some software that's simply toggle records into avi or something similar? or do I need to go through the whole rip convert process?

    Most proggies have an optiont o select chapters or time ranges and blah blah blah. DVDx should do the trick
