I burn audio CD's on my PC by using Musicmatch to burn audio on a CD-R.

Now I have a newer car with a built in CD player. If I put the CD-R into the car CD player then the player does not seem able to read the CD. You can hear a lot of head seek noises, but no sound, no track info on the display.

Original audio CD's play just fine!

I guess it may have something to do that the original audio CD has one stream for the whole CD and the burned CD is multiple streams ??

Somebody have a suggestion how to burn CD-R's which will play in my car?

    Thanks.

I just had to upgrade my car stereo to a new reciever that would play .mp3 cds that i burn/compile with Nero. What format are you writing your CD's in...(cd audio), WMA, or .mp3..check and see if you car stereo will play the format you are using.

The intention is to burn a regular audio cd.
The tracks have the .CDA extension.

Well if the CD-R's you're burning play fine in other CD players..that rules out defective burn/ cd..so they just don't play in your car stereo? but factory cd's play fine. Sounds like your car stereo just doesn't play CD-R.

Yeah, I was already afraid of that.
I was hoping there would be some magic burn software which could help.
    Thanks.

Before you go out and drop a $100+, try using a different software. I had a friend of mine that was burning his CDs with some third party software and his resulting CD wouldn't play in his factory deck. However, I burned a CD using Nero and it played fine. Try using Nero to burn your discs or some Sonic RecordNow. If this doesn't work then the likely thing is that you will need a new deck. Hope this helps!

I would try EAC (Exact Audio Copy) and rip it to a .wav file and try that. I haven't ever had issues with playing a .wav in any of my players. If you are ripping it down to a .mp3 it will likely not play on your player unless it is specifically dedicated as an mp3 player.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks in advanced for your help. I have a stock cd player in my car. I downloaded songs from Limewire. I downloaded songs as MP3's. I have tried to burn the songs using NERO burning room to play in my car. They did not play. The car cd plays all types of cd except my burned cd. In the property option it says that the cd that plays in my car are "Digital audio". I do not want to replace the head unit, I am hoping to use my paid burning software to make my own cds. How can I convert my songs and them burn them to play in my car. I have NERO 7 ultra editon with all the upgrades. My burner is a Lite-on 160ps cd/dvd burner. If you can help me with this problem I would deply apreciate it. Thanks again. P.S. I also have NERO working in my windows media player, It wont let me burn the songs.
