Ok, been away for awhile and I return to having only RTE1 and City Channel visible. Account is up todate and paid etc, but I'm getting the message 'your card has expired error 1050'. My area has gone NAG3 well over a year How come I've been knocked off? Are these talkback facilities and if box is not on for 5-10 days UPC knocks most channels off? Although I'm pretty sure I've had the box on i.e. not on standby
did you replace the card which they sent to you? if you didnt put the card in, thats why, if you didnt get one, ring them, if its a card issue, ring them and play dumb, say you were working away etc etc
Mickah, card was replaced earlier in year, so it wasn't that. I think it was because a test signal could not be sent to it was the reason most channel's were 'disabled' I have 2 connection points, one is a UPC point, the second is my 'own' that I did 20 years ago. Its the 2nd point that now seems to be the problem, when I attach the pace box to this I can't get any channels, when I connect to the UPC point all channels come through. So I'm guessing my 2nd point is 'not good enough' anymore. Thus do I need one of those TV/FM isolators attached to it? or a signal booster prior to the split? I can't see any other difference in terms of both connection points. Is it possible to test the signal strength for both points and if so what strength do I need
bring the box to the other point and try it a lot of the boxes are gone faulty and have to be replaced so i guess your one is the same but try swapping the boxes around and ring them on the phone if you have no joy they are there till 9pm on 1908
are you sure its the latest card,i had a card come through the door at the start of the year and the NAG3 one a few months ago,so just make sure you have the right one in because that error comes in for not having the new card in.the new card will update the software on the box and get it back up and running.
