best cartoon? just in anime or in cartoons altogether? anime-wise, i can list several right off the bat, including Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Great Teacher Onizuka, and Bleach were all typically more entertaining, in my opinion.

are we into non-anime cartoons as well, now? in that case, the Venture Brothers, Family Guy, Invader Zim...the list goes on.

Did you start this thread to have a discussion about cartoons, or, flame people about their favourite ones? Because, in my opinion, sounds like the latter.

Anyway, The Simpsons is, IMO, the [bold]best[/bold] cartoon ;-)

not true; though Spike practices Jeet Kune Do and there are a few posters of Bruce Lee throught the series as well as quote, this is still commonplace in japan. nothing more of the series is dedicated to Bruce Lee than the typical daily life in the anime nation.

i doubt a show that "sucks" is going to stay on the air for over 14 seasons. that doesn't make sense. the simpsons may slowly be falling into the slump that all shows eventually do, they still manage to remain edgy and fresh most of the time.

parts of it could qualify, depending on semantics, but no, overall the show is not a tribute to Bruce Lee.

Simpsons debuted in Dec 0f '89 so they have been for more like 17 years.
    Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy.

thanks, rocky. i knew they were around for at least 14 years, but i played it safe as i wasn't quite sure the exact length of time.

Case Closed was this little anime showed that had a short period of airtime on Cartoon Network here in the states. it didn't have the makeup of a catchy show, at least to most of the American anime connoseurs, so off the air it went.

i watched several episodes, hoping a good hook would develop. it didn't. i quite watching it. a short time later, off the air it went.

    *edit*
oh, i need to comment on the original post
does the lunacy of a population justify the lunacy of an individual? if everyone liked murder, does that mean it's okay/legal for you to like murder? using the values of others to make judgements for yourself only closes your mind and shuts down mental processes like the Task Manager on Windows ME.
