Sorry to ask a basic question but I am still a newbie and could not find the answer in the guides. How does one transfer audio from cassette tapes to MP3 on a PC? My aim to move them all to a CD as MP3 files. These are speeches, so music quality is not of the highest importance. What cable connections or software are needed? I am using XP Media Center Edition on my PC and also own Nero and Windows Media Player. Thank you.
There are many programs that can be used to do what you want.I think your best and simplest way would be with MP3DirectCut.... http://mpesch3.de1.cc/mp3dc.html Run the "line out" or phones out on your tape deck to the "line in" on your computer.Set the level so as not to over drive the recorder program. The program is free.Play with it some and you should have the mp3's soon.Good luck.
